The Revival of a Street Luxury Brand: Sean John.

Hello everyone out there, as always it’s good to see you. I’m back with another one , and this time im speaking on a brand that made a major impact on the fashion world from the time it was introduced. Welcome to The Revival of a Street Luxury Brand: Sean John. From day one when I first saw Sean John introduced in Vegas at The Magic Show Fashion Convention, I was a major fan. But what made this brand such a success was the image of the lifestyle being sold with it, and no one was better at selling you a luxury lifestyle ,a complete image than it’s owner Sean Puffy Combs. From music to music videos all the way up to fashion , he knew how to sell you a complete lifestyle and image. The same way he sold you the image of his artist on Bad Boy Record’s , is basically the same formula he would later use to sell you the idea of a street luxury brand , and it worked. It worked so well that the brand amassed millions in a short period of time and gained the attention of the CFDA, naming Sean Puffy Combs menswear designer of the year in 2004. From there the brand began to branch out into womenswear , hit the runways of New York Fashion Week and the brand was licensed to make a fragrance , eyewear , shoes and jumped into the men’s suiting and dress clothing lane successfully. But like any brand that comes out swinging, there comes a level off period , where the brand looses popularity. In this case when Sean Combs sold off a majority stake in the company to Global Brands Group. The problem with making a move like that , the company that takes over dose not have the same vision or passion for the brand, so the brand begins to loose it’s way. But that’s about to turn itself around, or so it possibly seems.

With Combs buying the company back out of bankruptcy for 7.5 million$ , the question is does Sean Puffy Combs still have what it takes to revive and breath new life into this once power house street luxury brand ? I’m back with another one, today im going to revisit an ongoing series that I started a little while ago, that I have not come back to in a few months. So today I am going to pick back up with another installment of Fashion Between The Panels: The Women of MARVEL. The purpose of this series is to show you how to draw fashionable inspiration from the least likely places to come up with new looks to help enhance your personal style and wardrobe. The JMADDD STYLES Fall Fashion Spectacular: Pt 4: PAPER PLANES.

Hello everyone out there , as always it’s good to see you. I AM JMADDD STYLES and you are about to be styled by me. Welcome to my latest blog post, today we revisit the brand simply known as PAPER PLANES, which happens to be the brain child of JAY-Z and his right hand man Emory Jones. PAPER PLANES is one of those brands that completely flew under the radar, as you started seeing it in small doses on various personalities on tv or in photos. Even the though the logo is pretty simplistic , there was something about it that intrigued me enough to notice it and and want to know what it was and stood for. Despite the fact that the brand maintains being relatively low key and still on the underground side , it has achieved a measure if fashionable success. I mean how could it miss seeing who it was started by, just take the right placement at the right time. Well the brand is back for the fall season with a pretty noteworthy collection, consisting of track suits , joggers, various hoodies , and jackets, rounding out the collection T-shirts, and an assortment of hats and other accessories, not to mention that they also put out out a collection of cashmere sweat suits. Basically PAPER PLANES has the entire blue print for a successful street/lux brand. But I can show you even better than I can tell you, so it’s now time for a look at my latest fashionable production, be sure to stay until the end for some additional fashionable bonus content.

The Fashion Follow Up: MVMT ( Movement Watches).

Hello everyone out there, as always it’s good to see you. For those that are not to familiar with myself, I AM JMADDD STYLES and you are just in time to join me for latest blog/vlog post. The Fashion Follow Up: MVMT (Movement Watches) , this is about the third time that I have covered the subject of the MVMT watch co. I have covered everything from showing you how to style looks to go with the watches, up to showing you how they stack up to the luxury of Shinola watches, which I will cover those again in the near future. So the question today is , what makes me revisit the MVMT brand again? Well over the last year or so , I have seen many videos and blog posts that say the brand doesn’t live up to the hype, that there are other brands that are better and of more quality. But when you really think about it , isn’t there always a better brand in the same category out there? Of course there is, but that isn’t what MVMT a great watch brand, it’s the marketing of the brand and the fact that in actuality they really do live up to exactly what they say they are. A company that promises to give you a watch with a great look and feel of an overly expensive watch and that is exactly what they do. They never boasted to be the best or highest quality, but they do in fact give you the right look that you want when wearing a good time piece, and since Movado brought the company out , the look of the brand continues to improve , more and more. However as always, I can show you better than I can tell you, so let’s now have a look at my latest fashionable production.

Fashion Between The Panels: AMERICAN GANGSTER , it’s been a little while since my last installment of Fashion Between The Panels , but this time I’m taking you between the panels of another film classic AMERICAN GANGSTER and breaking down the fashion to come out on the other side with new inspired looks based on what you see in this classic piece of cinema. The focus is on menswear, and helping you as always to enhance your wardrobe as well as personal style. For this blog post it is also important to keep in mind that this movie is a period piece , set in the late 60’s and throughout the 70’s. Making this twice as interesting because not only am I breaking down the fashion to give you new looks , but I’m breaking down the fashion from past era’s helping you to appreciate the timelessness of true style no matter the era that the looks came from or were inspired by.
