Hello everyone out there, as always it’s good to see you , I’m back with another one. Welcome to the sixth installment of my spring / summer style series . For today I am going to revisit a subject that I touched on for the fall winter season. That subject being QUIET LUXURY STYLE and how to capture it , the fashionable topic of quiet luxury style has become very popular over the last few years or so. Probably because of the over saturation of logo happy fashion influencers that want or need you to know what they are wearing to make it look like they are living a highly desirable and luxurious life style , that they are not necessarily living. Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with having some pieces that have heavy logo notoriety , I mean I can’t sit here and pretend that I don’t have a few logo heavy items in my wardrobe from shoes to clothing. But it’s always good to have variety and the ability to flip your style , in turn capturing quiet luxury style. The term quiet luxury is defined as a lifestyle or style that emphasizes understated elegance and refined consumption , without overt displays of wealth. Basically wearing quality pieces that still stand out because of the way you have them styled or the look and quality of the items is so noticeably good that it does not require a logo to be all over it to let you know that what you have on is without a doubt top notch stylish or of extreme good quality. And believe it or not The one that walks in the room wearing the quiet luxury aesthetic will still garner the same attention and notability as the person that has on loud logo heavy looks , it’s all basically in how it’s presented . Also important to note the person wearing the quiet luxury aesthetic may well have on the same brands as the person in the room with all the logo’s , it’s just being displayed in a more understated yet stylish way. Also don’t make the mistake of believing that you have to break the bank to capture the quiet luxury look , the look can be captured on almost any level and price point. So for today’s vlog / blog I’m going to show you how to capture this look utilizing four different brands , MR.PORTER , LORO PIANA , BANANA REPUBLIC & ZARA . Four different brands and most importantly four different price points all achieving the same look.

Hello everyone out there as always it’s good to see you , I’m back with another one. Welcome to the fourth installment of my SP/SU series, Today I’m taking you back on an another personal fashion styling and shopping journey with myself and two new clients. The two new clients are pictured above, Joseph Herrera and R.J. , each having different styling needs. To give you a little context Joseph Herrera (top picture ) had already had three suits that he had made, what he was looking for was a fresh styling perspective for the three suits that he already had ready to be worn.

So the mission was to coordinate each suit , in a unique way. The first thing that I always like to before I start actually styling a client , is come up with several concepts for you to look at and let me know what you think. from there then I then have a general idea of where it is that I’m going to shop the looks with you and put the looks together. Both clients were the kind of clients that any stylist loves to have , ready and willing to take suggestions , try something new and step out of their comfort zones. Making it much easier to come up with looks that will work not only in concept but also in reality. My next new client R.J. was very different from Joseph , he was starting from scratch , meaning that he didn’t have a known style direction that he wanted to be in. But as I was saying before he came with an open mind and a willingness to learn and be styled , making my job ten times easier , and we came up with a fantastic look for the upcoming event that he is going to be attending. But first the concept of what it is that he was going to look like and we took it from there.

DRESSING UP YOUR SP/SU STYLE 2024: SUITSUPPLY.

Hello everyone out there , as always it’s good to see you , I’m back with another one. Welcome to the third installment of my Spring / Summer series , where I’m once agin speaking on the latest and greatest from one of personal favorite retail establishments. That being SUITSUPPLY , if you are at all familiar with this vlog / blog then you know that each spring and summer season or fall and winter season I do a segment on SUITSUPPLY. Why is that ? You maybe asking , well this is most definitely one of those IF YOU KNOW , YOU KNOW kind of scenario’s . Shopping at SUITSUPPLY is truly a men’s wear experience , the customer service is topnotch and the shopping experience is always just that an experience and you always leave out , with no doubt in your mind that you are going to return again. When it comes to me styling clients it’s one of the first places that I take a look at to get your the look you need to step your style game up. Which is really important in my fashionable opinion , because if you can put on a streetwear fit with the greatest of ease , then you should equally be able to put on a casual or dressy casual or just plain dressy look just as easy. After all if you don’t know by now a well tailored suit can get you in some doors that a streetwear look may not be able to get you in or in as easily. Next it’s also important in my fashionable opinion to help you to learn how to dress your style up , and I say that because in this day and time stepping up your style game or just plain knowing how to dress correctly for the right occasion is pretty much always a lost art , and thats on the part of both men and women. I really came to that conclusion , about two weeks ago or so and I was out and about at an event or concert , now depending on the concert you do not necessarily have to be dressed up. But when the show is at a symphony hall or opera house , then as a whole your fit should say , that is where you at , and some years ago that would have been a complete no brainer. However things have changed and the majority just doesn’t clean up or know how to clean up for the right occasion and at a certain age in your life that is something that you should just know how to do , or be willing to learn how to do. If not then that is what people like me are for. With that said it’s once again time for me to help you to dress up your SP/SU Style.

NEW & FASHIONABLY NOTEWORTHY COLLABORATIONS: DAP x GAP:

Hello everyone out there , as always it’s good to see you , I’m back with another one. As the seasons change from winter to spring , there are a whole new crop of collaborations and drops that are set to hit the market , and that’s what we are going to talk about today. One of the latest collaborations to hit the fashion market just in time for the spring season , and if you are at all familiar with this vlog/blog , then you know there is nothing that I like better than a good fashionable collabo. The question is who or what is the latest fashionable collaboration that I am speaking of that is new and fashionably noteworthy? Well all questions deserve answers , so here it is…The who is none other than Harlems own originator of luxury logo heavy street fashion Dapper Dan , and the what is GAP. Over the last few years or so almost no one has pulled off more successful fashionable collabo’s than the one and only Dapper Dan , I mean for those out there that don’t know , since his reemergence to the mainstream scene he’s collaborated with the likes of GUCCI , PUMA , even PEPSI to name a few. But if you are not familiar and you call yourself a student of fashion then you need to do your googles and get caught up . However getting back on point , he’s back with his what I believe to be his third drop with GAP for his latest DAP for GAP collection. You Know what they say , the third times the charm , in this case that statement would be true because with each GAP drop the collection has gotten more extensive. Of course that would be the result when each collection either sold out or just did impressive numbers , and thats always the key to return business , is be successful or successful enough , but thats another subject for another time. To get back on point again this latest drop has expanded from not just hoodies but now the collection includes denim jackets , jeans , khakis , and even denim Japanese inspired Kimono jackets. Also important to know this new collection is moderately priced and reasonably affordable with the items ranging from 49.95$ to upwards of 158.00$ , making it very easy to own a piece of the new DAP for GAP collection. Now I have been doing all this talking about the collection but still have not shown it to you , so let’s have a look , and I will be right back.

STYLE TRENDS 2024.

Hello everyone out there , as always it’s good to see you , I’m back with another one. Welcome to my second vlog/blog post of 2024 , and the subject matter for today is trends, trends in fashion to be exact. Now I personally believe that fashion trends are absolutely subjective , but that dosen’t mean that they are not fun to take a look at and have a conversation about. the ,most important thing to remember about fashion trends is that not every trend is necessarily for you and your don’t have to go along with every trend just because the runways and influencers told you to. Also important to keep in mind is sometimes you have to create your own trends and your own styles and individual looks , and if you pull that off correctly then that makes you a trend setter and not always a follower of trends. However today I’m going to speak on and show you three different categories of trends , starting with a brand that has been really big on the underground streetwear side of fashion and that is Tremaine Emory’s DENIM TEARS brand. Now I am a little late with this one as this brand burst on the scene a few years ago , but has gained more commercialized mainstream notoriety within the last year or so , the problem with a brand like this that has such a good underground run and success , by the time it reaches the eyes of the mainstream masses is, it’s no longer as popular amongst the underground following that got it to be as popular as it was in the first place , but in some cases that’s ok especially from a financial standpoint. From there I wanted to flash you back to the 90’s and early 2000’s for recurring trends , the recurring trend is often one of my favorite types of trends to really pay attention to , cause it brings back styles and looks from days gone past , that never really went anywhere. It also puts those looks in the eyes of a generation that has never seen them , in this case I’m speaking of the ever popular AVIREX leather jacket and the CLARKS WALLABEE ankle boot shoe. Both of these items are considered to be streetwear classics , the most amazing thing to me is that both items are still the same price that they were at the height of their popularity when they were first introduced to the masses. The AVIREX leather jacket , still retails for $1,298.00 and the CLARKS WALLABEE still comes in at a price point of $170.00. Showing that there is still a want for these items be it from the original fan base or the new generation that are just seeing these looks. From there lets jump into the return of one of my favorite items to make a come back and that is the return of the classic FILA and SERGIO TACCHINI velour tracksuit both of these items were major must haves in the 90’s and now they are back and they look just as good now as they did those many years ago , signifying the timelessness of both of these brands that both still command a retail price point between $166.00 to $290.00. Then from there lets return to 2024 for what’s trending on the runways , and unless you have been living under a fashionable rock , then you know that PHARRELL has taken over as creative director of LOUIS VUITTON menswear. Just about a little over or under a week or two ago he premiered his latest collection at Paris Fashion Week , but his first collection as creative director just recently hit online and at retail , now there are some really good novelty pieces in this collection by that I mean items that are very individual and you won’t everyone on the street wearing them. In fact looking at the price point of this latest collection , the most you might see these pieces is on stage or the runways or some celebrity that really didn’t pay for it or didn’t pay full price for it. But I still will say that I overall like the look of a lot of these pieces that premiered in the collection and went to retail. Basically these new looks from PHARRELL and LV are not for the fashionably faint of heart , the price points for this new collection range from $485.00 to upwards of $12,400.00. Most definitely not to be considered affordable , but I am looking forward to seeing what else PHARRELL has in store for the LV brand.
