STYLE TRENDS 2024.

Hello everyone out there , as always it’s good to see you , I’m back with another one. Welcome to my second vlog/blog post of 2024 , and the subject matter for today is trends, trends in fashion to be exact. Now I personally believe that fashion trends are absolutely subjective , but that dosen’t mean that they are not fun to take a look at and have a conversation about. the ,most important thing to remember about fashion trends is that not every trend is necessarily for you and your don’t have to go along with every trend just because the runways and influencers told you to. Also important to keep in mind is sometimes you have to create your own trends and your own styles and individual looks , and if you pull that off correctly then that makes you a trend setter and not always a follower of trends. However today I’m going to speak on and show you three different categories of trends , starting with a brand that has been really big on the underground streetwear side of fashion and that is Tremaine Emory’s DENIM TEARS brand. Now I am a little late with this one as this brand burst on the scene a few years ago , but has gained more commercialized mainstream notoriety within the last year or so , the problem with a brand like this that has such a good underground run and success , by the time it reaches the eyes of the mainstream masses is, it’s no longer as popular amongst the underground following that got it to be as popular as it was in the first place , but in some cases that’s ok especially from a financial standpoint. From there I wanted to flash you back to the 90’s and early 2000’s for recurring trends , the recurring trend is often one of my favorite types of trends to really pay attention to , cause it brings back styles and looks from days gone past , that never really went anywhere. It also puts those looks in the eyes of a generation that has never seen them , in this case I’m speaking of the ever popular AVIREX leather jacket and the CLARKS WALLABEE ankle boot shoe. Both of these items are considered to be streetwear classics , the most amazing thing to me is that both items are still the same price that they were at the height of their popularity when they were first introduced to the masses. The AVIREX leather jacket , still retails for $1,298.00 and the CLARKS WALLABEE still comes in at a price point of $170.00. Showing that there is still a want for these items be it from the original fan base or the new generation that are just seeing these looks. From there lets jump into the return of one of my favorite items to make a come back and that is the return of the classic FILA and SERGIO TACCHINI velour tracksuit both of these items were major must haves in the 90’s and now they are back and they look just as good now as they did those many years ago , signifying the timelessness of both of these brands that both still command a retail price point between $166.00 to $290.00. Then from there lets return to 2024 for what’s trending on the runways , and unless you have been living under a fashionable rock , then you know that PHARRELL has taken over as creative director of LOUIS VUITTON menswear. Just about a little over or under a week or two ago he premiered his latest collection at Paris Fashion Week , but his first collection as creative director just recently hit online and at retail , now there are some really good novelty pieces in this collection by that I mean items that are very individual and you won’t everyone on the street wearing them. In fact looking at the price point of this latest collection , the most you might see these pieces is on stage or the runways or some celebrity that really didn’t pay for it or didn’t pay full price for it. But I still will say that I overall like the look of a lot of these pieces that premiered in the collection and went to retail. Basically these new looks from PHARRELL and LV are not for the fashionably faint of heart , the price points for this new collection range from $485.00 to upwards of $12,400.00. Most definitely not to be considered affordable , but I am looking forward to seeing what else PHARRELL has in store for the LV brand.

THE STAYING POWER OF A STREETWEAR BRAND: PAPER PLANES.

Hello everyone out there , as always it’s good to see you…I’m back with another one. Today I am back in my streetwear bag , if you are the least bit familiar with this vlog/blog or my YouTube channel , then you know that streetwear holds a special place in my fashionable rolodex. If you are not to familiar then you may be asking , why is that ? Well streetwear is where I got my intro into the world of fashion , from watching brands like KARL KANI or FUBU and how they got their start all the way up to being inspired to start my own brand many years ago as I saw those guys growing and taking over in the streetwear space or genre. The MAGIC Market Place was an amazing thing to see at that time as all those brands would converge on Vegas and so to speak compete side by side with one another for various buyers business. Being that I saw all of this happening and through my hat into the streetwear ring as well , I can appreciate how difficult it is and can be to maintain a streetwear brand. So it is always interesting to see how those various brands and even brands of today that have been built off the backs of those original streetwear brands have and do to maintain longevity past being just a flash in the fashionable pan and there is no other genre of fashion that is harder to keep alive and relevant than a streetwear brand. But there are those that have managed to do this be it past or present , and the brand that we are taking a look at today is The PAPER PLANES brand. This is not the first time that I have spoke on this fairly new brand that falls under The Roc Nation umbrella owned and co-owned by JAY-Z and Emory jones , and that is why it fits perfectly into my STAYING POWER OF A STREETWEAR BRAND segment. This brand was introduced somewhere around 2018 or so and continues to grow and progress to the point of going from mostly on line sales to now it’s first brick and mortar location in lower Manhattan , basically proving that slow and steady growth is better in most cases than over saturation that can cause any brand to fade faster than it should. In short, PAPER PLANES falls under the IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW category , and I have to say that I’m a major fan of this new age streetwear brand. So with that said lets have a look at what you can expect from PAPER PLANES for this current fall/winter season.

So welcome to THE FALL FASHION FINALE , and for this seventh and final part of the series I’m talking overcoats and how to style them. To do this I’m taking you on a little shopping spree so to speak , visiting four different designer brands to give you a range of styles and price points to look at in order to get the idea that you don’t necessarily have to break the bank on a nice overcoat , unless you just absolutely want to , and there is nothing wrong with that either. Just to give you an idea , a nice overcoat can go as high as 800.00$ or more , to as low as 150.00$. But regardless as to rather you pay 800.00$ or 150.00$ if you style the overcoat right , you can always come out with a great timeless look that is high on style , and that is exactly what you want. The brands that we are going to take a look at today are SUITSUPPLY , RALPH LAUREN , BANANA REPUBLIC and H&M, to, as I was saying before offer you a variety of styles and price ranges. As a fashionable sidebar ,the overcoat is or should be a major staple in your wardrobe , because it shows that you are versatile when it comes to your style game and it creates a look that can easily transition from dressy to casual almost effortlessly. Now lets take a look at the different ways that you can style your overcoat….

Hello everyone out there , as always it’s good to see you, I’m back with another one. Welcome too what is the sixth installment of my Fall Fashion Spectacular series and for todays vlog/blog , I’m talking accessories , time pieces to be exact. But not just time pieces , affordable time pieces or to take that a step further cool affordable timepieces, that will not break the bank. Because let’s face it , most of the brands that are over priced and hyped are out of reach from a price point perspective for the average consumer. So I wanted to compile a short list of what I think are some of the most stylish yet affordable watches that you can buy. Now I’m not claiming to be a watch expert , what I could fall into the category of is a watch enthusiast , I can appreciate a nice watch that looks good on your arm and compliments your overall look but also completes the look that you are out to accomplish. Today I am highlighting four brands that I think best cover the category of affordably cool time pieces , that would be MAGNUS WATCHES , JORD WATCHES , SHINOLA DETROIT , and MVMT or MOVEMENT WATCHES. Now I’m sure that there are more brands that fit into that category , and in the near future I may well come back with another list of affordably cool brands , that also will not break the bank and still compliment your personal style. But for now lets take a look at todays list…

Hello everyone out there as always it’s good to see you , I’m back with another one. For the 5th installment of my fall fashion series , I’m talking business casual style and how to capture it. By the way for those that are not to familiar with myself or this vlog/blog, I AM JMADDD STYLES and you are about to be styled by me. Now getting back to the subject at hand , when it comes to a subject like business casual style or dressy casual style it often is a mystery to most as to what it is or how to dress in such manner. In actuality the two are very closely related , but let’s not get too far into the dressy casual subject matter and just stick with the look of business casual style. Basically to give it a simple breakdown business casual style is the perfect blend of dressy and casual at the same time to create a look that can basically go anywhere be it day or night. Now important to note , depending on the field that you are in business casual style can change but for today we are just going to stick with a standard of business casual style. To show you how to capture this look today I decided to use three different designer brands and create two looks from each , starting with Brioni , then taking you to Paul Stuart , then ending out with Tom Ford. Important to note , you don’t have to utilize high end brands to capture business casual style , you can use any price point to capture the look depending on what it is that you wish to spend. But always keep in mind , you get what you pay for when it comes to quality and the longevity of your clothing. So what does business casual style look like you may still be asking , well I can show you better than I can tell you…
