The Art of Fashionable Investing….

Hello out there as always it’s good to see you. Just incase you are not to familiar, I AM JMADDD STYLES and I want to take this time out to welcome you to my latest blog post The Art of Fashionable Investing. Today we are going to talk fashion but in a different kind of way, im going to put a different spin on the usual direction and get more into the business of fashion. So you may be asking what is Fashionable Investing ? Well it’s an idea I came up with a little while ago when I was more on the designer end of the business, thinking to myself it would be hard to catch up to and surpass some of the major players in the world of fashion , specifically if you are funding yourself. But then I began to think maybe competing is not the answer, perhaps the old adage IF YOU CAN’T BEAT THEM, JOIN THEM. But you have to figure out how you are going to join them , if you see the picture at the top , that is a stock market graph showing you the activity of a particular fashion giant.

The graph is an overview of the Stockmarket activity of Michael Kors Holdings, which is the parent company of Michael Kors and all the other fashion companies that come under the umbrella of Kors Holdings. That being just to name a few Jimmy Choo Shoes, and the recently acquired House of Versace that Michael Kors Holdings brought for approximately Two Billion a few months ago. Now most of you out there will pay major dollars for a pair of these

from Jimmy Choo , or go through great lengths to try and afford a piece of

Versace no matter how large or small , but what you probably never thought to yourself was the fact that you can own a piece of these companies, for much cheaper than it costs to buy those Jimmy Choo’s or the Versace book bag and belts. You see most major fashion companies can be found on the stock market and are publicly traded, you just have to research what companies are out there and find the correct investment code or symbol to be on your way to being a Fashionable Investor. In the case of Michael Kors Holdings you can buy your way in for (36.41 $) (KORS) a share , see what I mean when I say it would be cheaper to buy a piece of the company than to buy the actual designer goods. Bringing a whole new meaning to the phrase IF YOU CAN’T BEAT THEM, JOIN THEM, or even better yet beat them from the inside. But it doesn’t just stop there , another good example to look at is underwear giant

Victoria’s Secret, this company comes underneath the umbrella of L Brands Inc. (LB) and can be purchased for as little as (24.91 $ ) per share , now that may fluctuate up or down periodically, but this stock for the most part does well cause overall they almost have a lock on the intamates apparel industry with only a few competitors but once that Victoria’s Secret fashion show passes each year , they really see a spike in sales and stock. Let’s take a look at one more company , this time im going to take you more on the streetwear side ,

didn’t see this coming did you , currently one of the hottest and most sought after skate brands on the market has just become publicly traded by partnering up with investment firm The Carlyle Group. Now it has been said that since this acquisition went through The Supreme clothing co. has reached the billion dollar mark. However you can have a part of this company by Investing in The Carlyle Group at (16.12 $ ) per share , much cheaper than owning or even finding a piece of Supreme clothing in itself. There are so many more companies that I could tell you about , but I just wanted to give you a quick overview , so im going to stop right here , perhaps I will revisit this subject in another future blog post . For now however, it looks like we have reached the end of yet another blog post, I AM JMADDD STYLES and this has been The Art of Fashionable Investing. That’s it for now , so until the next time IM GONE…..!!!

Designer Spotlight : Michael kors & Versace.

Hello out there as always I would like to take this time out to welcome you to my latest blog post : The Designer Spotlight, Michael Kors x Versace. But before I get started , for those not to familiar with me I AM JMADDD STYLES, you’re Fashion Stylist , Image Consultant , Personal Fashion Shopper and now Fashion/Style Blogger. When it comes to fashion , my interest dosen’t just stop at the creative side of the game . For that matter to truly be well rounded in this field, you have to be knowledgeable of more than just the clothes but the big business behind the clothes. Now I know I often say there is nothing I like better than a good Fashionable collabo , but this is that times two. It seems that Michael Kors

has just recently acquired or brought major fashion house Versace

for approximately 2.1 BILLION. I told you this was major on the Fashionable collabo side. It seems that as of late aside from just putting out great clothing and accessories, Michael Kors has been expanding his empire by acquiring other brands , such as the recent purchase of Jimmy Choo shoes for 1.2 BILLION.

Donatello Versace , will still be on board as creative director, which will be very important to the brand maintaining it’s true look and feel.

Which is one of the reasons why this merger was such a surprise to me , because the brands are so opposite on the style spectrum.

The Michael Kors brand albeit one of my favorites, focuses on Classic American Tailoring & Style with a more calm look , don’t want to call it conservative but definitely not as flashy as Versace which I also like.

See what I mean, two completely opposite looks , but then that’s what will make this partnership so great especially as long as the mind of Donatello Versace is still behind the brand and calling the shots. Well there it is , we have come to the end of yet another blog post. This has been The Designer Spotlight : Michael Kors & Versace. I AM JMADDD STYLES, that’s it for now , so until the next time IM GONE…..
