The Revival of a Street Luxury Brand: Sean John.

Hello everyone out there, as always it’s good to see you. I’m back with another one , and this time im speaking on a brand that made a major impact on the fashion world from the time it was introduced. Welcome to The Revival of a Street Luxury Brand: Sean John. From day one when I first saw Sean John introduced in Vegas at The Magic Show Fashion Convention, I was a major fan. But what made this brand such a success was the image of the lifestyle being sold with it, and no one was better at selling you a luxury lifestyle ,a complete image than it’s owner Sean Puffy Combs. From music to music videos all the way up to fashion , he knew how to sell you a complete lifestyle and image. The same way he sold you the image of his artist on Bad Boy Record’s , is basically the same formula he would later use to sell you the idea of a street luxury brand , and it worked. It worked so well that the brand amassed millions in a short period of time and gained the attention of the CFDA, naming Sean Puffy Combs menswear designer of the year in 2004. From there the brand began to branch out into womenswear , hit the runways of New York Fashion Week and the brand was licensed to make a fragrance , eyewear , shoes and jumped into the men’s suiting and dress clothing lane successfully. But like any brand that comes out swinging, there comes a level off period , where the brand looses popularity. In this case when Sean Combs sold off a majority stake in the company to Global Brands Group. The problem with making a move like that , the company that takes over dose not have the same vision or passion for the brand, so the brand begins to loose it’s way. But that’s about to turn itself around, or so it possibly seems.

With Combs buying the company back out of bankruptcy for 7.5 million$ , the question is does Sean Puffy Combs still have what it takes to revive and breath new life into this once power house street luxury brand ? I’m back with another one, today im going to revisit an ongoing series that I started a little while ago, that I have not come back to in a few months. So today I am going to pick back up with another installment of Fashion Between The Panels: The Women of MARVEL. The purpose of this series is to show you how to draw fashionable inspiration from the least likely places to come up with new looks to help enhance your personal style and wardrobe. With each segment I use 3 Marvel Comics Heroines to draw the inspiration from, the subjects being used today as the backdrop or inspiration for today’s looks are Yelena Belova ( The Black Widow ) , Maya Lopez ( ECHO ) , & Jennifer Walters ( The Sensational She Hulk). The JMADDD STYLES Fall Fashion Spectacular: Pt 4: PAPER PLANES.

Hello everyone out there , as always it’s good to see you. I AM JMADDD STYLES and you are about to be styled by me. Welcome to my latest blog post, today we revisit the brand simply known as PAPER PLANES, which happens to be the brain child of JAY-Z and his right hand man Emory Jones. PAPER PLANES is one of those brands that completely flew under the radar, as you started seeing it in small doses on various personalities on tv or in photos. Even the though the logo is pretty simplistic , there was something about it that intrigued me enough to notice it and and want to know what it was and stood for. Despite the fact that the brand maintains being relatively low key and still on the underground side , it has achieved a measure if fashionable success. I mean how could it miss seeing who it was started by, just take the right placement at the right time. Well the brand is back for the fall season with a pretty noteworthy collection, consisting of track suits , joggers, various hoodies , and jackets, rounding out the collection T-shirts, and an assortment of hats and other accessories, not to mention that they also put out out a collection of cashmere sweat suits. Basically PAPER PLANES has the entire blue print for a successful street/lux brand. But I can show you even better than I can tell you, so it’s now time for a look at my latest fashionable production, be sure to stay until the end for some additional fashionable bonus content.

Hello everyone out there, as always it’s good to see you. I AM JMADDD STYLES , and this is Fashion Between The Panels : The Women of Marvel Pt 4. If you are familiar with this blog , then you know that I’m not only a fashion head , but I’m also a comic head at the same time. Since that is the case , sometimes those two creative interests cross paths and make for a fashionably inspired mashup. In this case the fourth installment of The Women of Marvel, for this on going blog title, each time I take three or four different comic book heroines and show you how fashionable inspiration can be gained from how the character looks in her signature comic appearance. For the fourth edition of this blog post I’m you to enhance your style by being inspired from four new comic book heroes. Those being , MS. MARVEL , ELEKTRA , and THOR ( Jane Foster ). The Fashion follow up : How to Rock your BERKINSTOCK’s

Hello everyone out there, as always it’s good to see you. I AM JMADDD STYLES , and I would like to take this time out to welcome you to my latest blog/vlog post : The Fashion follow up : How to Rock your BIRKENSTOCK’s. Even though we are fast approaching the end of the summer season , I couldn’t let the time pass without hitting you with one last summertime trend. Now the BIRKENSTOCK sandal is by no means a new shoe , in fact it has been around for many years for those that are hardcore sandal enthusiasts. I have to say that I have always been aware of this brand , but it has always flown just below my fashionable radar. The crazy part about that is I’m a fan of wearing sandals as an alternative means to always throwing on a pair of sneakers, boots, or casual shoes or even sometimes dress shoes. But it was when my wife came to me and stated that she wanted a pair of BIRKENSTOCK’s that I decided to take a closer look at the brand. Admittedly enough, when she first said it , I kind of poked fun at her for wanting this old school hardcore sandal. However I still was intrigued as to why the sudden fascination, so I started noticing the sandals being worn by a variety of people , both celebrities and non celebrities. Then I saw how menswear retail establishments like Mr. Porter was carrying the sandal for one of it’s hot shoes of the summer, the same for various womenswear retail establishments as well.

So I guess you could say that I was late to the party with this one. But that’s ok , because now this classic sandal is way up on my fashionable radar , so much so that I had to write about it. That’s not all though, I had to find ways to style the sandals for both men’s and women’s looks.
